In the town of Eastloche, a mysterious wall was built, dividing the town in two parts. On the North side of the Wall, there were the people who lived by the rules of Mayor Christopher- the ruling body of the town- and on the South side? No one knew. It was all governed a secret to the people, all except his siding military force- of whom he marked, personally, with a snake tattoo.

Being the one and only ruling faction of the town, Mayor Christopher set a rule that was to be followed by all North Wall residents; that no one under any circumstances was ever to breach or go near the Wall. Lana Grey wasn't about to let any rule stand in her way though, when she watched helplessly as the Mayor's snake-armed men took her best friend to the mystery- and torturous place- that is what they call The Other Side.

Lana was going to get her best friend back, even if it meant going against every rule the Mayor has set and siding with people she would never have trusted before. What she didn't anticipate though, was that she was about to step into something bigger than she would have ever imagined, and fall for a man who she knew she should never in a million years trust. Will she get her best friend back before it's too late, or will the secrets of The Other Side destroy every hope she has left of ever saving her?

"You just don't," he says. "Alaric, you have to tell me or I won't know and I can't help." I say and he shakes his head. I step directly in front of him and he stops. His gray eyes are wild, the color before the storm turns into a hurricane. "They don't want you, they wanted someone quiet who'd never dream of more than gray.
