In 1947, hidden away in a military air force base in Dayton, Ohio, suspicions arose of a UFO cover-up from an incident earlier in the year that caused a commotion over in Roswell, New Mexico. Not wanting to risk the secret slipping out into the public, scientists at Hangar 18 worked to create an artificial intelligence android that would ultimately serve as the base's last line of defense if faced with danger. But something goes awry during creation, and the so-called "secret weapon" is left to its fate and folly after activation. Though too little too late as word gets out to the government, who shut down the hangar and wipe out everything in sight- except the android, who was dubbed "Experiment 0-18-352". With its only knowledge of "home" destroyed, it seeks to rebuild what it lost and make certain that this time, the true status of Hangar 18 remains a mystery for good.
Fifty years pass, and military researcher Nathaniel "Nathan" Raine has stumbled upon the files from the shutdown of Hangar 18, but is left with all his questions unanswered. In search of satisfaction, he travels to the once obliterated base of operations, only to discover it is not as abandoned as he had read- still guarding the hangar to the day is Experiment 0-18-352, now under the name of Skylar Harrison, who has since come into its own and has made keeping all secrets of the base, including the cover-up and the status of the hanger, its life's purpose. Now caught up in the matter of the duty of his position and the trust he swore to the android, Nathan must battle with his morals with what is truly the right path to take, while Skylar risks life and limb to hide away as much as possible without giving anything away that could once again destroy everything that it brought back to life.
But the government will always try to pull away layer after layer of information to get what they want. And Skylar and Nathan might both be running out of time.
