This is a Httyd modern au story
Hiccup is a High school and college graduate in zoology and wants to follow in his mother's footsteps and become a zookeeper at the famous Berk Zoo. But something fishy is going on with some of the staff and not because of all the carp they feed the seals and otters, but thanks to the help of Hiccups friends along with an unusual friendship with a dangerous black panther he names "Toothless," Thor can only know what will happen.

Based after How To Train Your Dragon: Hidden World and during the new Netflix series Rescue Riders. ------------------------------------------------------------ Since the dragons left Berk to live in the Hidden World, Hiccup had been missing Toothless desperately. Same would be said for Toothless. He missed his best friend. Besides from that, everything was going great for the both of them. They had started families with their lovers, Toothless was going good as the Alpha/King dragon and Hiccup was performing his duties as the Chief of Berk very well. But despite their lives being close to perfect, neither of them could shake the feeling of missing each other. So Astrid came up with an idea. Hiccup and Toothless could catch up while they go away for a couple of days. Both Berk and the Hidden World would be looked after well by their leaders wives. Hiccup and Toothless thought it was a great idea, so they accepted. And there was no doubt they were excited. But what would happen if they were caught in a terrible storm and crashlanded onto an island? With Toothless' self-working prosthetic tail broken, they needed supplies to fix it. The Strongest of Them All
Mistreated and malnourished, little Hiccup doesn't understand why most everyone on Berk hates him. Gobber notices the abuse and steps in, but things quickly spiral out of control and the only way to keep Hiccup safe is to smuggle him off of Berk and into the hands of their allies. Hiccup is soon adopted into another tribe and grows up discovering what having a true family is like, but the past never stays in the past, as he soon discovers when Berk reaches out to the famed Dragon Master for help. How would the story go if Hiccup had been taken by Cloudjumper instead of Valka? What if Hiccup was raised by the dragons, in the ice sanctuary, for twenty years? Until one day, he finds himself stuck on Berk. Discoveries are made, new friends are found, and Hiccup's life changes significantly. Will he go back home to the ice sanctuary and forget about Berk? Hiccup Horrendous Haddock the Third is the only son of Stoick the Vast, chief of the Hooligan tribe. As his only son, he is next in line for the chiefdom which wouldn't be a problem, if he wasn't a runt. Viking's believe that a name is what strikes fear into your enemies. Hiccup's obviously doesn't. The name is given to those who won't survive their first winter. Those who don't belong, those who will not be any more than a burden. Hiccup isn't an exception to this. I mean, sure he survived his first winter, and the next fifteen. But he caused problems, not on purpose. Things just happened when he was around. First when he was six, and a nearby furnace blew up when he lost his temper. Then when he was eight, nine, eleven. These strange happenings kept occurring, and nothing he did helped. Everything he did, everything he tried had some way of turning back on him. For the longest time he believe that the God's cursed him. But now, now he finds the blessings in the curse. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I really hope you enjoy this fanfic!! It focus' on Hiccup being a bit more than human. He discovers a fragment of an ancient Dragon Tongue dictionary and becomes obsessed with understanding dragons. Hiccup and Gobber decipher the Dragon Tongue, learning about different dragon species and basic greetings. Hiccup, yearning for communication and not subjugation, ventures to the rumored Dragon Isles. There, he encounters a majestic Alpha dragon, Ignis. Hiccup undergoes three trials to prove his courage, respect, and understanding of dragons. He passes and is accepted by the dragons, learning their language, history, and customs. Hiccup forms close bonds with several dragons, including a young emerald dragon he helps heal. He feels a responsibility to share his knowledge and bridge the gap between humans and dragons. With a heavy heart, Hiccup returns to Berk. He faces skepticism and fear from the villagers, but his stories and Toothless's gentle nature plant seeds of doubt. Hiccup works tirelessly, teaching villagers about dragons and organizing controlled interactions. Years pass, and a new generation of Vikings grows up with a different understanding of dragons. The fear never truly vanishes, but it is tempered with respect. The story ends with a young Viking boy befriending Toothless, signifying a new dawn for Berk, a future where humans and dragons coexist peacefully.Complete

It's the story of a young Viking. Actually, he isn't that young anymore. He's 23 years old now. His name is Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III. 8 years ago, he had to run away from his beloved home Berk because he became best friends with a creature that no Viking should ever become friends with: a dragon.
