‘I watched him as he walked away, dragging his feet. I bit my lip trying to stop the tears from spilling over. Who knew someone could break you so easily? Who knew you could break someone else even easier? Who knew breaking someone could hurt you so much? I never really wanted to hurt him. I really didn’t. But I couldn’t set myself up for heartbreak. I’m not from a fairytale and this isn’t my happy ending.’ Kaitlyn is eighteen; she’s an infamous pessimist among her friends. Riley was dealt a bad deck of cards in her life. Her mother passed giving birth to her, and her father blames her for his wife's death. He abuses her non-stop, and there's nothing she can do about it, even if she tried. That's when Spencer comes along. After being paired up for a huge class project, will the mysterious 'bad boy' and the abused girl end up together, or will the abuse become too much to handle? -------- This was a short story I wrote for my creative writing class, and thought I'd share it here! I hope you enjoy and I'm sorry if there are any spelling errors or mistakes. I'll try to fix them when I can!
