Ella Montgomery is a lucid dreamer and for the past year she has seen a boy in her dreams every single night up until she moves from Oregon to San Fransisco, that's when her entire life is turned upside down.
Ella learns she is a Dreamcatcher a form of Lucid dreamers who have been extinct for centuries, only ones that have the gift are able to unlock the true power of lucid dreaming and Ella is one on the last ones in the universe along with her new friends. Now on top of fitting in, family problems, and banned relationships Ella must learn to control her growing list of powers.
Sebastian Firrow is the leader of the tantibus based in San Fransisco. During the day he looks like a regular teenager trying to pass calculus, but at night he is the monster that haunts peoples dreams and steals them. The real life boogeyman. From the time he and his crew was changed this is his nightly job, so when one night he lands himself in the dream of a girl who's power both intrigues him and scares him, he cant help but visit her every night.
Tantibus comes from the Latin word nightmare, an ancient clan that used dark magic to steal power from dreams to gain power. After the Great War, the tantibus were sent into hiding for centuries while the dreamcatchers slowly died off. Only seventeen years ago is when a group of elder tantibus were sent out in the mortal world to turn children into the next generation of Tantibus and slowly gain power again after years in hiding.
Now nearly 500 years after the Great War dream catchers and tantibus come together again in the most unlikely of places, to end evil once and for all.
