"Valar above, Thranduil...it's a title, not a viper," Adar grumbled, rubbing his forehead just under his crown. We stood in the anteroom bickering in undertones while, on the other side of this closed door, the tightly-arranged benches of the gathering hall filled with an eager kingdom.

Thrust into the perils of politics at a young age, Thranduil must help his father hold a young, struggling kingdom together, meanwhile trying to buck King Oropher's growing expectations and live a somewhat normal life. But life never goes according to plan, and when Thranduil falls in love with an elleth he was never meant to notice, his life takes an unexpected path of breathtaking intimacy, heartbreaking loss, hard-earned victory, brutal personal struggles, and soulful healing.

How she still looked majestic, despite the scars on her face and hands was questionable. Why the elleth was in Rohan and where she disappeared to from time to time was a mystery. I do not have any copy right claims regarding the original books or movies this fanfiction is based on and I do not make any money from this content. King Thranduil is just trying to keep his kingdom running and his son safe when an elf is found with orcs at the border of Greenwood. Who could this mysterious elf truly be? But then the elf he rescued in the forest grows closer to Legolas, and Thranduil can not help but enjoy her company as well. Darkness descends over the forest, all because of this one elf. When lives are threatened, Thranduil must make a choice: his kingdom or his heart. 12/14/21- y'all I wrote this in high school and I kinda want to go through it again and do a bunch of editing. Some of my writing makes me cringe and what are we here for if not improvement. That being said, this story will change starting today probably and if you're in the middle of it, hopefully I don't confuse details or timelines for you.
