Claire had never thought she would reach the age of nineteen, not when she lived in a town full of bloodthirsty vampires who were ruled by the ice-queen herself. Not to mention the ice-queens second in command, the bloodthirsty hippie, Oliver.
However, nineteen she was and she was happily married to the love of her life, Shane Collins. Nothing could possibly go wrong but this was Morganville – something went wrong eventually and this time it was in the form of a young woman, Charlotte Lockett who was Shane’s childhood friend... and crush. In the beginning, Shane confirmed that the feelings for the girl were gone but Theo warned Claire that Shane was half-lying and she took it upon herself to investigate the matter; only to bump into a vampire named Vincent who had news that a couple of people had raised Bishop from the dead.
Now Claire must work with the deadliest people in Morganville to again dispose of Amelie’s psychotic father. However, he was nowhere near as psychotic as Claire’s crazy, vampire boss, Myrnin. Who not only had a pet spider called Bob but also talked to the crockery and was in the midst of tainting her heart to claim it has his own. This then puts her in a deadly situation when Jesse finds out her supposed lover still had feelings for his little assistant.
