Sam, a shy, 16 year old, closeted lesbian who has anxiety issues and abusive parents meets Avery, a soon to be Beta, who wasn't expecting to find her mate in a human girl. But when one act of kindness and tears start to turn things over, Avery realizes that she cannot keep Sam an arm's length away. Their relationship is put to a test with love and trust the only things keeping them at bay. The darkness of the past catches up to the present and looms over the future. The now-grown undead god meets someone from his past for the last time in his infinite life. An ancient artifact that unlocks a hidden ability comes into his possession and will stay with him throughout his infinite life. Excerpts: Hearing that title broke him from his mental preoccupation. _Oh, no. Not her. Not with these people._ Glancing around the table, he saw that everyone was looking at him, overtly and covertly, watching and waiting for his reaction. ... The young god stood up in excitement. _It just talked to me! I'm talking to it! This is so weird. What else can I ask it?_ ... _What should I say? I should say something, right?_ "Umm... Hi!" he managed to say. He stopped himself from wincing at his awkward greeting as he felt every eye in the room on him and maintained a casual and relaxed facade. _'Hi'? Really? "Well, Mia...come here," She ordered, tilting her head as she spoke to me. Mindlessly, I took a few steps towards her and then stopped, deciding that we were close enough. She took one large step towards me, almost completely closing the gap between us as she towered over me in her heels. She wrapped her arms around my waist and pulled me closer, so our fronts were now pressed together. She leaned down to my ear and asked, "Do you want me to take care of you or not?" "Yes," I whispered, and with that she leaned down to press our lips together, kissing me as her tongue slipped past my lips. My arms moved around her neck as I pulled her further down into me, deepening the kiss. She moved me until my back was pressed up against the sink. *** Mia is entering her last year of school when she hooks up with a stranger one fateful evening, who ends up being involved in her life in more ways than one. When Mia discovers the stranger is now her teacher, it sparks a clandestine relationship filled with unspoken desires and moral complexities. Speak to and see the dead? Raise Zombies from their graves? Summon demons from the depths of Hell? You might just be a Necromancer like me. Hopefully you aren't caught up in something that's way over your head though. I certainly am. Oh, and I really do hope you don't have an Incubus as your constant companion. Especially not an overprotective and moody one. He can be quite the pain...but he's the only friend and ally I have, even if we're only together because of a contract that was forced upon us. What's that contract? Oh, we have to participate in an ancient war. Lovely right?Complete
