Caroline lives with her husband Jim in his mothers basement. She can't stand it there and can't wait to leave. When she and her husband get approved for a mortgage she's excited. After seeing a bunch of houses she finally finds the perfect one. It was an old Victorian. Although it was big and beautiful, it did need some work. It was nothing they couldn't handle though and when they move in things started out fine. Then they begin to rennovate, and strange things start to happen. Suddenly Caroline starts to hear cries in the middle of the night and heavy boots can be heard stomping through the house when she's there alone. She's never been easily scared and doesn't intend to start now. Then, when see's the ghost of a scared little boy she knew she had to find out more. But will the truth bring peace or leave more questions?

[COMPLETED] "If you let me leave now, I won't tell anyone what you did sir..." I grumbled, and he smirked a little, as if it was a hilarious joke. "Like I said, you aren't leaving Caroline..." She and her brother had to leave their father who couldn't handle his anger and his grief. As runaways, she and her brother, Dustin, are cold, hungry, and only have each other to face the merciless cruelties of the world. Alone she was followed by a man that was helpful, and kind. But just when she thought she could trust him, he took off the mask of a normal man, and hurt her in ways unimaginable. Trapped, she was forced into waiting out her time thinking of the world, her mom, and her life. She had to do something hard, she had to make a choice. She could stay and be hurt and trapped, but fed and warm, or leave and be cold and hungry, but free...
