All Teresa Lindley wanted was to was graduate high school and go to her dream college, UC Davis. But that all changed when her and her best friend Kate Shiels were kidnapped. They never expected to wake up in a cage inside a top secret experimentation facility. They never expected to meet Max and Ethan, 2 of their missing classmates. And they certainly never expected to awaken with glowing eyes and fangs. The white coats ran countless tests, injected them with a myriad of inoculations, treated them like the animals they were slowly becoming. Will they ever be saved from this living hell? Or will they be doomed to live the rest of their lives as mythical creatures known only as... Dragons.

There are worlds that live beside our own. Not above in the stars, not buried beneath the earth, but folded against reality like pages pressed together. Most people never notice. They live their lives with eyes half-shut, content with what they're given, never reaching for what lies just beyond. But some of us are born restless. Some of us hear echoes where others hear silence. Some of us feel the pull of something we can't name. Kaelen was one of those people. She thought her hunger for more was only daydreams. She thought the stories in her books were only fiction. She thought her life was destined to be small, invisible, ordinary. She was wrong. Because when the veil between worlds trembles, it does not choose kings or warriors to step through. It chooses the ones who ache for belonging. The ones who have nothing left to lose. And Kaelen had been waiting her whole life.
