"It always starts with a dead body."

Tia Anderson is known as the only superhero in town. Why?
Well, every power comes with a price. For the Phased, it's trauma. Trauma so dark and unforgiving that all are broken by the time their ability kicks in. Broken to a point of no return, broken to a point of insanity.
The only thing is, Tia never knew that pain.
She woke up with her powers. And because of that, she made the leap that changed her life forever - she decided to step up into the pedestal and claim her medal for superhero status, banishing crime from the dark streets and battling against the crazed Phasers of Hyde City.
However, in a city littered with thievery, assault and murder, it is no small feat to cleanse and rid of the immorality. Not even all-mighty Glory can reach all the corners of the city with her full-time occupation as a student.
Which is why, on the 18th of October, the small, pale corpse of Milo Blake was found in the middle of Barracks Street, strangled to death by an anonymous Phaser. A small boy with great dreams and a beloved the sibling of Tia's best friend.
But was it really just one murder? Or was it the makings of a serial killer...?

What she doesn't know is why this all happened and who this guy is. As she tries to solve the mystery from a distance while in witness protection, the connections keep getting weirder and more personal. Might she be able to relate to the killer in a way that no one else can? And what does that mean about her own psyche?
