Falling Slowly

It's been years after the divorce of Rebecca Adam's parents, and things have never seemed bleaker. Her mother is hardly ever home and it's a known fact that they have a hateful relationship, filled with one-sided yelling and threatening sticky-notes. In addition to that, Rebecca only gets to see her best friend about once a week, and mostly only on Sundays. Although it's nice that her friends at school are the popular crew, Rebecca has never felt more out of place. Through it all, Jacob, one of the popular kids she's friends with, tries to save her from her depressing life and teach her what it means to be falling slowly.
