Change The Story (an Assassin's Creed novel)

Despite my better judgement, I lift my hand up again and reach out to the screen. I push my hand as far as my wrist, but yank it back towards me when I feel something smooth touch my fingertips.

Sucking in a strengthening breath, I push my hand back through the black hole. This time I go to halfway up my forearm until I feel the same smooth object touch my hand.

I soon realise that it's a hand as it clasps mine within its own. I'm not given much time to think on this as my mystery hand starts to pull me through. Pushing my other hand through to stop the mystery person, they grab that hand too, increasing their pulling force.

It takes a while, but eventually I'm pulled through and land with a THUMP onto my knees. I'm not given the chance to do anything more before a guard turns the corner into this alleyway and yells, "Assassino!"
