For as long as the Mercer line has ruled, they have been cursed with assassinations, plague, and scandal. The line is close to eradication. King Andres Mercer III has fallen gravely ill. He has little time left. There is one other Mercer who can rule, Princess Danielle Mercer. Sent away from court for disorderly conduct, Princess Danielle must be recalled to the palace to prepare for King Andres' death. However, she is unpopular. Many would rather see her head on a pike than in a crown. She must overcome many trials, including one set by herself.
