I skipped down the path to the beach. It was late but I really wanted to go swimming. When I got to the ocean I saw my best friend River.
"Hey River!"
"Oh hey Cascade."
I walked up to him and pushed him in. He smiled at me and grabbed my hand and pulled me in. When he pulled me in a wave took me under. I was thrashing my arms trying to get back above the water. Then something strange happened. The water lifted me out and placed me on the beach. River looked at me in shock.
"Whoa. Cool!"
I smiled. I then felt something stir inside me. I realized that I had a special power few people of my kind had. I am a Water-Bender.

The blood had already leaked down my forehead, but I kept my eyes on Shane and tried to blink quickly to clear my vision. "Hang on, please. Please hang on." He pleaded, holding my body up to a sitting position. I couldn't even remember what had struck me and I was getting nervous by Shane's worried face. "I'm... it hurts." I mumbled. "I'm so sorry." He held me closer. This time tears started to form in his dark green eyes but I could tell Shane didn't want to cry in front of me. My head started to feel more dizzy and I had to give in and close my eyes, much to Shane's dismay and his protests. I probably should've just listened to him from the start when he said don't go outside in this weather, but me being pissy with him and wanting to prove a point- I did and now I'm laying on the wet grass with a gash on my temple and an even bigger one on my leg. "We'll get you to Harvey." Shane said. I could hear his voice break at the end. He picked me up and started walking. "Please wake up." I wanted to so badly but I was exhausted from the hike and spending the night in the cold and shivering for hours. Shane's warm hands under my back and legs already felt way better. "This is all my fault. The one good thing to happen in my life...." Shane let out a sob but never stopped walking. I just wanted to hug him and tell him everything was going to be alright. I could feel the blood still tripping down my leg and face, so I knew I couldn't make false promises but Shane needed me. He needs me. I'm his anchor, I'm the girl he leans on when he's feeling like he's losing. I have to do this. The Glitch
Every 100 years there's supposed to be a new one of us. But the newest one vanished when the world needed him most. Now people, are either fearful of us or hate us it sounds like. I could have killed you!" He says and starts to walk towards me. I take a big breath and step back away from him, "s-stop! Axel," I stutter still panting. It's then he notices the blood on my hands and shirt. "Is that blood?" He asks staring at my shirt and I take another step back. "Stop, stay b-back," I try to say confidently but I can't even breath right. Realizing he won't listen I start to turn around planning to make a break for it. The boy who was trying to help this poor soul had approached a few paces. His voice was now quieter, more soft, and still caring. The boy at the bridge took a moment to think, then nodded his approval. The savior gently took the boy's hands delicately in his own and gently pulled the boy back. Well, less of a pull and more of a gentle suggestion. It worked and the boy stumbled down off of the edge. The boy started to cry. How could he be so weak that a boy, the same age as him, who seemed to have the same ideas and hatred toward himself as he, could keep him from stepping off? The other simply gently led him to his vehicle and took out a water bottle out of the backseat. The boy took it and looked at it suspiciously. "It's untampered, look, it's still sealed." Upon seeing this, the boy opened it and took a few sips of water. "Thank you. For the water." The savior smiled. "It's nothing much." He shrugged. "Have a phone? If you want I can put my number in and then you'll always be able to tell someone if you're having a pissy day." Surprisingly enough, the boy agreed. . They would both be around twenty.Completa

My dream continued the one I'd been having for the past couple of nights. I ran, gasping for breath, through the familiar woods from a dark figure behind me. The faster I tried to run, the slower I seemed to go, until it was like I was running in place. I knew I needed to run. I was terrified of what the figure would do when he caught me. "Mara Leigh," a deep, smooth voice called. It was almost hypnotic. That was new. The figure had never spoke before now. I ran as fast as I could go, eyes searching the forest floor for a big stick or something that I could use to defend myself. "Mara Leigh!" the voice came again, this time more insistent. The forest slowly started to fade and I started to awake to someone shaking my shoulders. "Beau?" I mumbled, turning my head to the side. What's Beau doing in my room this time of night? Why is he shaking me? "Do not call me that name." My eyes flew open as I jumped at the voice from my dream. A face was right in front of mine, and just like the voice, it wasn't Beau. Before I could form a scream, a hand covered my mouth. I tried to bite it but I couldn't get my mouth to open. He's too strong. I started to use my whole body to try to get away, but he crawled on top of me, holding me down. I pulled the hidden knife out from under my pillow and slashed as hard as I could at him, but he just grabbed my wrist and squeezed it until the pain made me drop the knife. Then he grabbed both my hands in one of his and held them over my head. He held me down while I struggled. I grunted and moved and tried to kick and scream, but I only wore myself out. Exhausted, I stopped thrashing and let the tears flow freely down my cheeks. I may just be a girl. No one special. Nothing compared to others. In the eyes of the universe, I am just a little speck of dust. My light may not shine very bright, and it may not be of any use, but I am me. Writing is my only escape out of this world. I cry rivers of ink and climb mountains of words.
