Though even a year later in his Senior year at the age 17 it is hard for him to get people to call him Jack and use the appropriate pronouns. Soon he decides to tell his parents. What happens then? "What if I'm not one?" I asked, my body wound tight with tension. "One what?" he asked, his voice soft and low. I hesitated. Was I ready? I wanted to tell him so badly.
