Phoenix Matthews was a freshman when she caught her dad having "relations" with a student from a few towns away. She was still a freshman when she watches her dad get arrested for it nine months later. By the time the end of summer rolls around, she wishes her mom had never left during seventh grade.

Two weeks later, her and her older sister (and now legal guardian) Lark move to a small town a few towns away from Brooklyn: Riverdale. At the beginning of sophomore year, she goes into her new school in the aftermath of the death of student, popular guy, and star football player Jason Blossom. But there's someone else that sparks her interest.

As the years wore on, he became darker and cruel. He joined his Dad in the Serpents and truly loved the gang lifestyle. Archie felt hollow since Betty left. He distracted himself with football and girls and had earned himself quite a reputation. Betty and Veronica became best friends while they're mothers dated. They both embraced the New York party lifestyle. Betty changed from a sweet, quiet girl to a bit of a wild child but kept her heart of gold. That is, until Betty and Veronica move to Riverdale with their mothers. Jughead and Archie are shocked to see Betty again. One of them view her as a challenge, the other as prey. He had found her when she was in an emotional state, after running away from the foster system. Her parents had died in a tragic car accident and she didn't want to be shuffled around. Liam took her in and she couldn't leave. Every time she tried he found her, being she had no other place to go. When at the store, Toni meets Fangs, a Southside serpent from Riverdale. He tells her all about the family of Serpents and convinced her to come back with him. He talked about how the serpents were a family and always had each others back. So from Greendale to Riverdale, Toni rode on his motorcycle meet the serpents. When Toni arrived in Riverdale she needed a job to pay for her new trailer.
