Always the Mysterious Ones

"You don't know everything about this town," Jughead said.

"And I want to find out. This town has more lies, mysteries, and secrets than a Nancy Drew book, and I want to know as much as I can," I said.

"There's some stuff you may not want to know. It could get you in trouble, or worse, make you have the same fate as Jason Blossom."

"I'm not worried. I can take care of myself if worse comes to worse."

"Can you?"

I took a deep breath in. "Absolutely. If there's one thing I learned in Brooklyn it's how to take care of myself and the people I care about."

Phoenix Matthews was a freshman when she caught her dad having "relations" with a student from a few towns away. She was still a freshman when she watches her dad get arrested for it nine months later. By the time the end of summer rolls around, she wishes her mom had never left during seventh grade.

Two weeks later, her and her older sister (and now legal guardian) Lark move to a small town a few towns away from Brooklyn: Riverdale. At the beginning of sophomore year, she goes into her new school in the aftermath of the death of student, popular guy, and star football player Jason Blossom. But there's someone else that sparks her interest.

Jughead Jones. The most mysterious boy in school. And, for some reason she can't explain, she's always fallen for the mysterious ones.
