Inspired by John Carpenter's 1982 horror-movie "THE THING", this nouvelle tries to expand and explain what could have happened to its main character -- MacReady, who is now lost in the snow and infected by an alien organism.

(Apologies...this is old and bad but it's necessary for (REDACTED; will let you know when publishing) and I don't have the time or energy for a rewrite.) It wasn't too long ago that a snowfall happened in Nathan's hometown in Montana. And a rather large one at that. It caused school to be cancelled, but it still left room for learning from home. However, there was something different about this snowstorm. People and friends of Nathan began to go missing, and once returned, they had turned into horrible monsters forcing every last remaining uninflected human to band together and fight for survival and to uncover the mystery of the snowstorm and the monsters in its wake. Based on/Inspired on/by Sodor Mist and Sodor: Left for Dead and Last Stand by @ShanksYT, Sodor Eclipse by @Truck_of_Tar, a ST 3 AU by @Emperor_Drakkon, Little Blue Hell by @carson08022000, and Rim of the World (Netflix Movie, I don't know who owns that), (I own none of these)
