It feels less like a city, and more like a living, breathing organism.
Or maybe, more like a living, breathing predator, if I am to be more accurate.
Humans are outlawed there.
Iridium is it's name, and it never lets me forget.

Force Of Nature (Animals x Child Reader)
If we humans have proven one thing, is that we are not one of the most destructive, but 'the' most destructive creatures on the planet. Once upon a time, we were unrivaled as a species, but after a certain experiment with unforeseen results, that time was done. A few select animals spread their gifts, planned carefully, and took dominance out from humanity's nose. The animals wanted to solve the overpopulation and bring balance by killing those who they saw unworthy of life since they would only hurt others while the semi-guilty and innocent are given new rules. Slavery to pay for the things they have done or pets to award the good ones with a new life of luxury.Complete
Population Control
You know what? No one wants to admit it, but we're all running out of room. People are blind. We're too many. Every year, more of us pile onto this rotting planet. Bodies, faces, minds pushing, shoving, breathing, eating, consuming. But what are we really? Resources. And guess what? Resources expire. We can't just keep packing in more and more. People are already useless. We've been useless for a long time, and yet we're allowed to walk around, pretending we matter. Pretending we aren't just feeding into this endless cycle of death.

How does it feel to see half of the city covered in flames? Calming. Especially when you observe it from the top of a landfill. You can see how easily the fire is spreading to other districts of the city and the black smoke hovering above the ground. Nowadays, the fire was a phenomenon that could've been seen every day. It was because of the things that laid on the ground. Sometimes only one spark can cause it. Why? Because of things. That was the fault of overconsumption. In the past, people were buying so many things that they started to run out of space to store those items. The world was so focused on climate change and pandemics that they weren't able to notice the real issue that soon became so significant that the damage done was irrevertible. The planet was filled with things that they couldn't get rid of. In the beginning, people were trying to solve the problem by creating islands, but the production didn't stop. No one was able to solve the problems. Rich people solved their problems by moving to Civitus Lumine, which were clean areas. They didn't have to worry about the dangers of the Urbs Cinere.Complete
