Eliana Crow is not your average up and coming heroine. Adopted by a Peruvian family when she was six weeks old, Eli's only learned English in school. Although her skin is pale and she was born in America, living the Peruvian lifestyle and speaking Spanish with her older brother Louis is who she is. As a child, Eli grew up preparing for the end if the world. Her parents were obsessed with "The End" and she was raised learning how to survive: able to start campfires, win a street fight, and last in the jungle for a month with nothing but a machete. She can scavenge and find water in the most dessert places. Oh, and her Tío has been teaching her to wrestle gators. As far as Eli's concerned, She's not American. Peru is her home, as are all of her friends and family, no matter blood relation. But after 2012 came and went without any sign of The End, her parents began to rethink all of their parenting methods. They decided to send Eli to a private school in New York City, to "learn about her heritage," and "where she came from." Appalled by the idea, Eli finally consents to go, only for her plane to crash and start to the most hectic and terrible months of her life, completely alone.
