After many years of solitude, one loses hope to ever see daylight, ever have hope again. Duathiell has been alone for as long as she can remember, and any hope of being free has long vanished. With each setting sun, each lost day, she draws away from the outside world, trapped by her father figure in the dark prison of her tower.
But every day she sees that the sun rises once more, and if she can strain her eyes just far enough, she can see the world; the land of Middle-Earth, that stretches as far as she can see. One day, she says, one day she'll see it all, run in the trees and live in the forests, but she never thinks about who will be with her.
She never thinks about who she will meet, fall in love with, and what great adventures they will go on together. It never even crosses her mind, and when it does, it will surely be a tale that will be passed down for generations of Elves for Ages to come, who'll all tell the tale of the unlikely hero, who in discovering herself, forged a path that will influence many to follow.
