Meet Daya Matthews, head bitch of North Forest High School, commonly known as a bully. No one knows her as anything more, or different. She's been this way forever. Or so it seems...

Nathan Gallin meets this kind, selfless girl serving at the homeless shelter. Her warm smile welcomes the unfortunate guests as if they weren't all strangers. Eager to meet this kind girl, he approaches her only to be attacked by viscous words that would make him just walk away in any other situation. But the opposites of Daya's personality speaks of a hidden mystery that Nathan is determined to crack.
Nathan's friends don't for a second understand his pull towards Daya because they know her; most people remember the one who makes your life torture. Even hearing his story, they still believe Daya is a bitch, their explanation being acting kind for her family and the homeless shelter must be something her parents are forcing her into. But Nathan is determined to not let this girl push him away and see through all the insults to the hidden personality behind.
Only one other person knows what Nathan is trying to understand about Daya and she believes it to be one person too many. But is it time for her to finally open up, and will Nathan be the one with that privilege?
With that knowledge, will all that Daya ever lied for come crumbling down to her feet, or will she be resistant to Nathan and his idea of change?

Growing up in a toxic environment, sixteen-year-old Jay Foster has always had psychological problems, coupled with a quick temper. But one night something happens which finally pushes him over the edge, and as a result, he leaves his house the next morning with two things: his mother's gun and a plan. Living with a neglectful and drug addicted mother wasn't easy for Jay, and it definitely didn't help that his father abandoned the family while he was still a child. He harbored a hatred toward his parents, and that hatred extended to almost everyone and everything around him, producing a very troubled and damaged young kid. As Jay enters high school, he becomes very intrigued with one of his classmates. Kind of obsessed, actually. Her name: Mikayla Keeler. Mikayla is very unique, and like Jay, she doesn't seem to fit in with her contemporaries. Instead, the two of them keep each other company, and their friendship very quickly escalates into a romantic and intimate relationship. Despite having Mikayla, Jay's troubles continue to burden him. He and Mikayla are fighting habitually, his home life is still unbearable, and his time at school is hardly any better, made worse by a bully named Calvin. Their mutual dislike of one another leads to a lot of hostility, routinely leading to Jay being sent to his school's principal. One confrontation in particular goes much too far, resulting in Jay's expulsion from school. With everything seemingly piling up, Jay is very close to his breaking point, and late one night he is blindsided by the unthinkable, pushing him much too far and effectively planting in his mind a cruel and horrific plan for revenge.

Chloe - the new girl, once again. Another town, another school, another chance to start over... or atleast try. Thrown into a massive high school of over two thousand students, she quickly realizes this isn't just any ordinary place. The moment she steps onto campus, she can feel the social hierarchy pressing in around her - the cliques that define everyone and everything. The jocks, the cheerleaders, the goths, the nerds - each group perfectly formed, leaving very little room for anyone to find their place. At first, all Chloe wants is to just blend in and not be noticed, to stay invisible long enough to survive the year. But when Brandon, one of the schools golden boys - charming, popular, and admired by everyone- takes an unsettling interest in her, things begin to change. What starts as innocent attention soon turns into something much darker. Rumors begin to spread. Whispers follow her in the halls. One girl with curly brown hair, who seems to have a lot of damage - quiet, watchful - seems to know more than she lets on, and Chloe starts to realize there are secretes buried beneath this schools polished surface that no one talks about... that no one wants to talk about. As the weeks go by, Chloe becomes the target of cruelty, manipulation, and betrayal from those she least expects. She faces the kind of pain and trauma no teenager should ever have to endure - loss, harassment, sexual assault, and the crushing weight of no one believing her.
