13 year old Anya Bullard always loved fairy tales. Her mother would read them to her at bedtime before she fell asleep. She loved the thought of seeing a real life fairy, or goblin, or witch, or werewolf, or- you get the idea!
Anya's mother suddenly falls ill and her world changes drastically when she dies during the night.
Her father leaves for a business trip for several months and comes back with..Anya's new stepmother and two stepsisters. Anya is overwhelmed with all of them everyday, so every night she visits her mother's grave and reads her fairytales.
One night at her usual trip to her mother's grave she falls asleep reading her tales, when she wakes up in another world..
