We were moving again. I really don't like moving. This time is further than any before. I'm nearly used to it. I mean we have done it so often I've lost count. Well, anyway, my name is Melanie and I am 16. I LOVE horseriding but I've never stayed in a place long enough to own a horse. Just good old riding schools for me. I have brown hair and blue eyes. I'm about 5"9.
We had been living in Europe but now we were going to a place in the states. I really can't remember the name, it's not like we'll be staying long anyway. I hoped this place was decent-ish. I was in for a surprise.

One day, my whole life got flipped upside down-all over one tiny little thing. It was December. I remember it perfectly. Well, mostly... After that, I wasn't just that weird, lonely student anymore. No longer that nerd hiding out in her own bubble, where science was the only thing that made life worth it, and the only source of genuine affection came from a childhood friend. Just like that, I became one of the hottest names on campus, with all the glory and the shadows that came with it. And I owe it all to one person. Calum Hughes. Rich kid, totally obsessed with racehorses, who promised me the moon and made the stars seem within my reach-even though I was just some regular girl from Louisville, Kentucky. I fell for him, hard. He was magnetic, pulled me in without even trying, swept me off my feet, and I thought for sure I'd hit the jackpot, just like my dad was telling me. Then, overnight, Calum flipped the script on me too. He shut me out, treated me like I was nothing. Turned out, I hadn't bet on the right horse, no matter what my mom believed. But I was stuck to him, chained. I couldn't leave, so I had no choice but to endure his two-faced games Since he crashed into my world, I've hit rock bottom more times than I can count. Yet, weirdly enough, he's the one who's always pulled me back up too. Now, I've got the chance to shake everything up again-but I'm not even sure I want to anymore. My name is Rhiannon Carter, and this is my story.

Book 1 of Dan Barnes Series. I am a single male with a degree in science and engineering. My name is Dan Barns, I was in the army for four years, worked in the private sector for five years with a six figure salary and was bored out of my mine. I grew a great nest egg, but I was not cut out to wear a suit and tie and then attend meetings everyday. I wanted so much more. I am six foot even, and I weigh around 186 on a bad day. My hair is brown with natural black streaks, and I have a nice tan. I love the great outdoors. I grew up as a single kid with a single parent who worked all the time. I aced science every time and fixed things for my mother and myself because of a lack of money. I never knew my dad, but once a year, my mother would get a check for my upkeep. My dad was a well traveled man and never stuck around after mom had me. Things were tough, but we made it. I got scholarships for my doctorate in both fields. I graduated as a doctor in six years. Problem that shaped me into the man I am today was, my mom died when I was 16 and I deicide to test out of school, joined the military, spent four years as special operative, and into college as an adult, I tested out of some of the easier classes. I kept the house because it was paid for and was in mine and my mother's name. I kept her truck, because it was also paid for and it helped when I need to remember her. I was twenty seven when I walked across the stage for my diploma and was sought after by some very big companies. I worked for one of these companies for five years and then I was bored. I retired at thirty one. I laid low, putting around my house, helping my neighbors, and helping out at the boys and girls club coaching basketball. For two years, I stayed in my own little piece of the gulf. I did not spend a lot of money, I fixed things, sold electric back to the electric company, and had fun with the teens. With the history now told, we can begin with some of my adventures.

"Dance with me." While I knew it wasn't a demand, it wasn't a question either. I hesitated and he noticed. "Come on Grace, give this gentleman the honor of a dance." "I don't see a gentleman anywhere." He chuckled, stepping closer and tucking his thumbs into his tight jean pockets. He looked like every woman's dream--dark jeans that hugged him sinfully, golden-tanned skin contrasted by his white-fitted shirt, a black, wide-brimmed cowboy hat, and a smile that could send any woman on her knees. Not to mention a voice that coated your skin like silk sheets. I hated how much I noticed. "You're right, but I would like the honor anyway... ma'am." ********************* Meet Grace--living the city life, reserved, eager to please, loyal to a fault. Feeling empty for reasons she's not yet sure of, she's adamant on chasing anything that makes her feel free. Meet Colt--living the country life, private, stubborn, outspoken. Feeling empty for reasons he's well aware of, he hides in his daily routine. Grace can't seem to figure out why she holds nothing back when it comes to Colt. He's absolutely infuriating. Colt can't seem to understand the affect Grace has on him, and why he cares what she does. She's entirely maddening. When the two get lost in the wilderness, it's up to Colt to get them back. Can they put their differences aside long enough to survive? Is it Colt who will save Grace, or is it she who will be his saving grace? A broken prodigy. 17 year old Olive Bennett wishes for nothing more than to wash away the dark memories that haunt her day and night. Moving to Wilson Creek was supposed to do that. But nothing brings the dread back more than her crippled leg, and the horse she hides from herself and everyone else. Helping her father earn desperately needed money, Ollie picks up a job at the local stables, a pristine english riding centre home to stuck up girls and beautiful horses that have never been loved. And it's getting hard to ignore her feelings when Gus, an arrogant, annoying yet gorgeous stablehand is thrown into the mix, his one mission - to break down Ollie's walls. Then, without even realising it, Ollie soon finds herself teaching Wilson Creek Stables her ways of horsemanship - the western art of creating bonds and being kind. Can they help her heal with her own broken horse? 'This book is legendary! It's truly compelling and brought me back time and time again. The characters are so easy to fall head over heels with, and the storyline is a complete bomb. I would recommend this ripper of a book to anyone and it should really be published by now.' - @Ruby_Splash.
