Al treilea război mondial a durat aproape 2 ani. Mama și tata s-au întors acasa la 2 ani și cateva zile după plecare. Am fost norocoasă:ambii s-au întors , deși tata avea piciorul rupt, și nici acum, după un an de la întoarcere,nu poate merge normal: șchioapată puternic la fiecare pas.
Populația lumii fusese,după cum am aflat o dată ce televizoarele au reînceput să funcționeze, extrem de decimată.
Din 7 miliarde, câți fuseserăm înainte de război, se estima că rămăsesem în jur de un miliard, iar peste treime erau bătrâni.
