Sam (only her mother is allowed to call her Samantha) Roberts returns home to the Rocking R Ranch she dearly loves after four years in the east. She is more then ready to help relieve some of the burdens of running the ranch from her father's shoulders and must maybe find a man equal to her father to settle down with.
Just as her life seems to be heading in all the right directions her father is murdered leaving Sam the sole owner of the Rocking R Ranch. Sam soon sets out to find her father's killer or killers. As the trail twists and turns she begins to wonder who she can trust to help her find the answers she seeks and along the trail she discovers a startling deception she was not prepared for.
