Anais Vautrin. A pure-blood born in England but raised in France.

...only things aren't that simple.

Anais is one with a secret. A dark secret that can cost her her life if she is not careful.

Her parents were death eaters. One of the most disturbed. After the Dark Lord's first downfall, they went into hiding by fleeing to France in hopes of not only avoiding Azkaban but to also gain the opportunity to raise their unplanned newborn daughter, Anais.

They were believed to be dead after years of hiding. Other Death Eaters constantly mentioned their names for exchange of leniency in prison, but the ministry never seemed to listen.

When the Dark Lord returned, their names were brought up once more by prisoners. Only this time, the ministry decided to look into the case.

Eventually, the deranged couple is captured and sent to prison. The custody of Anais went to her aunt, a talented witch and widow. She gives Anais the wand that belonged to her husband, and homeschools her for about a year until she is finally ready to attend Hogwarts.

Knowing Anais's family history, Professor Dumbledore welcomes her to Hogwarts and promises to keep her parents' reputation buried.

But what happens once Anais realizes the chances of Voldemort finding out about her existence? Will he kill her because of her parents treacherous action? Or perhaps, just maybe, she'll pretend to be on his side...

Elyse Jane Elizabeth Colston was raised in her small but cozy house in Lexington, Kentucky with her adoptive No-Maj parents. Elyse is the type of child to always carry a book with her, and more of a keep to herself type of girl. Needless to say, when she got her acceptance letter to Ilvermorny, her parents were shocked but sportive. They were a bit worried at first, but eventually let her go. She was selected into Thunderbird (equivalent to Slytherin) and fit in quite well even though she was a "muggle-born," but Elyse always had that one thought in the back of her head that she did not belong in Thunderbird or really at Ilvermorny at all. Elyse knew she was different since she started at her private school before she went to Ilvermorny. She had a very slight British accent, and the only one in her class who was adopted when she was a baby. She was teased a lot when she first went to Ilvermorny for being a "Muggle Born" sorted into Thunderbird because that is supposedly only for the "Purebloods," but she was accepted but she still felt as though she only had her best friend Lili-Anna, and her boyfriend Tom for support. When Elyse gets asked by Dumbledore to go to Hogwarts for a year for her 5th year, she is really shocked when her adoptive No-Maj parents weirdly takes them no time at all to say that she can go. She ends staying with a family who is still grieving. Even though she enjoys Hogwarts, everyone seams as though they are keeping secrets from Elyse. Join Elyse as she stays at Hogwarts and finds why Dumbledore asked her to come to Hogwarts, learns why she was given up as a baby, makes friends, meets a certain someone, and finds out who she really is.

- ~ - ~ Lumos series book 1 ~ - ~ - On the evening of July 31st, 1980, Lily and James Potter welcomed a pair of twins into the world. But the joy of additions to the family tree was quickly destroyed by Lord Voldemort. He meant to destroy both twins in one fell swoop using the Killing Curse - the worst of the Unforgivable Curses. Instead, the Curse backfired on him, destroying him. But the children didn't come out unscathed, either. The Curse had branded the both of them with scars - one more noticeable than the other. Harry's scar was a simple lightning bolt-shaped line on his forehead, while his sister, Avery's, was a raised welt whose outer edge traced down the center of her forehead and around to her right ear with the appearance of a cluster of bolts rather than the one of her brother. The two were separated. Harry went to live with the Dursleys, while Avery grew up with the O'Reiley family in Ireland - the mother of this clan being a witch and her husband being a Muggle, it was a nice, magicless environment like the kind her twin would live in. But when Avery receives her letter to Hogwarts, she is confronted with truths she never wanted to believe, a new world she had been born into, and a new family she had never known. Can she, the girl who lived, survive the chaos to ensue?
