Zia is a normal teenage boy. Well, as normal as you can be if you live at the bottom of the ocean. As he approaches his eighteenth birthday, Zia prepares for his monthly visit to the surface. Despite his interesting life beneath the waves, he yearns for a life willed with learning and adventure on the surface. When he arrives there, he meets Lily, who turns his three-day visit upside down. As Zia becomes more acquainted with her, he falls in love and finds that he must make a choice. Does he choose to just survive or does he choose to live?
