She loved him so dearly, even though she may have never said it aloud. She loved him so dearly, he had become a part of her heart.

Unbeknownst to him, he had conquered her heart a very long time ago. Maybe that was her mistake , perhaps she was at fault. Perhaps she had never truly, honestly confessed how much she had loved him, that is why he had turned to other means.

Her happinness that had been blooming like the first rose of spring, immediately diminished once she had witnessed the proof on the accursed thing that she held. A dark cloud hung over her and she knew then that all those times he claimed to love her were all sweet lies.

She remembered every minutest detail of their Nikaah, like it was just yesterday. She even remembered the exact words he uttered when he met her for the first time after the Nikaah. She remembered that megawatt smile he had flashed. She recalled the way he held her hand, placing the softest feather like kiss upon her knuckles. Every single detail was embedded in her mind, but all that would now be merely a memory.

She slumped on the bathroom floor, her daughter huddled against her chest.

They both cried tears of fear as her husband banged on the locked door, threatening and frightening them.
Nothing would ever be the same again! Nothing!

She held onto her arm, noticing the angry blueish, purple mark that had begun to surface.

Rivers of tears ran down her cheeks, creating a waterfall of her emotions.

How much longer would she have to live like this? So many years had passed, yet he never changed, he refused to accept her as his wife.

No matter how much she tried, even after three children, her life was still a mess.

She dropped her her head on the carpeted floor, trying hard to breathe amidst her choked sobs, crumbling and breaking down, calling unto her Lord who was her only means of solace and peace.
