Awaken. Complete The Task. Recharge. Repeat. Leah and Lola Roberts were born into a home that didn't want them. The very moment they came into the world that should've shown them the same kindness almost any other person would show them, they were sold illegally. Sold to cruel engineers and scientists who wanted nothing more then to see the world evolve. Evolve into one filled with flying cars and robots controlling every aspect of society. Though, the rest of society wasn't too happy with the idea of emotionless shells selling them their produce and meats. That is where the HCC comes in. Hidden Circuits Corporation. 'Robots' that look completely human, and can feel any emotion a human can. It's hard to even tell that they aren't human... Or are they? The case is different for Leah. She and her sister were the 'prototypes.' They don't look human like the others. Wires hang out of their metallic limbs, rather than artificial skin hiding it. They are the ones truly hiding their 'circuits'. All Leah can ever desire is freedom, or at least to have her older sister back to the way she once was. To be the way she once was. Anthony Tieran, the son of a engineer, and following in the footsteps of those before him., and caring for his younger sister, Utah, and teaching his apprentice, Piper in the process. He's always been one to appreciate the company of the machines that surround him more than living, breathing humans. He's always believed he'd always be in his workshop, tinkering with different things, or teaching Utah and Piper. That's when 'Iolanthe' stumbles into his shop one night... A purple haired, mutilated creation, with the initials of the HCC burned into her back. With one arm and both of her legs that are robotic, broken with wires hanging out, and part of her face torn away and replaced with metal and some horrible excuse for an eye, he's complete uprooted from what he could ever believe would be a normal life.

The robots rule earth. The girl only known as reject #5642 doesn't own her name, she doesn't own her body and she doesn't see a future on the artificial island she grew up on. After a chance encounter with a new reject-boy and unearthing her true mother's slave collar, she is lead on a path to discover more about herself than she could possibly imagine. When the machines come to her door to harvest her younger sister, #5642 is thrust into a head-on collision with the whole robot world order. Her foster parents give her one desperate secret mission. Protect her sister and get her to #5642's real parents in the machine capital. The future of humanity rests on it. Soon #5642 must run for her life, fight for her existence and to do that she needs to discover her real past. In a desperate hunt across the ruins of America #5642, her sister and a reject-boy called Hunter must out run the Artificial Intelligences and the cyborg's known only as 'The Continuity'. The same ones who master minded the robot apocalypse 20 years ago. To succeed she must discover the meaning of the resistance plan 'Destiny Rising' and the only key she has is her human birth name. Emily, Emily Banks. As she runs the machines begin to realise what she might represent, the last bitter ember of human resistance. Can a girl like her possibly be capable of what it takes to change the world? She has to, because she doesn't know it, but she is the cyborg's daughter. "I was born a slave, but it doesn't mean I have to die like one." said Emily carefully picking up the phase bracelet. A Y/A novel. PG13.
