On the day of your birth, your whole life is suddenly planned out. You are marked as either an enforcer or a worker. An enforcer has to live a life of violence, killing those who choose not to follow the strict rules. As a worker, you work 20 hours a day, every day.
Ashton Martian is the best enforcer. People say he has a natural taste for killing. That's why his job is to take down those who have chosen to rebel against the government. Ava Sparks on the other hand doesn't tolerate the government and has raised a small group against them. She is skilled in what she does, but unfortunately, that has a fatal consequence.
Ashton is assigned to take down the biggest threat to the government, which so happens to be Ava. He has to gain her trust by making her fall in love with him, then killing her when she least expects. But what Ashton doesn't expect is the growing feelings he is developing as he gets to know the real, Ava Sparks. But when the time comes, will he go along with the plan and take away her life, or will he risk everything and protect her?
