In the small fishing town of Taiji, Japan, a recently exposed trade of illegal dolphin meat has received national attention after a documentary of it was released last year. Amare Zehr is the daughter of an American journalist sent to Taiji to cover the bloody story. Much to her dismay, her entire family decides relocate to the tiny village until the seven-month fishing period is over. Amare is skeptical; not being much of an animal right activist, she'd much rather be home, playing video games, surfing the web, and not worrying about something as stupid as a dolphin hunt. However, Amare soon finds that she's about to get much closer to the hunt than she'd ever imagined. The real question is: can she handle the change?
