All is well in LightningClan. Young apprentice Silverpaw is doing excellent and is progressing rapidly in her training. All that changes when an evil force shows it's ugly face to the clan cats. Cats from LightningClan and BrokenClan are being possessed by deceased followers of Venomstar, a spiteful and cruel former leader of FallenClan. He and his shadow warriors are determined to take over all the clans, once and for all to rule eternally. When the evil spirits take over some of the cats Silverpaw trusted most she is banished from her clan. Where is she destined to be and what is going on? Things are hectic for a newly appointed warrior, Aurorafeather. She has a lot to learn and much to discover. When Hawkflight, Aurorafeather's brother, brings an injured rouge into camp things get tense between LightningClan and BrokenClan. More cats start crossing borders and mysterious acts I hostility are becoming more frequent. But when the BrokenClan deputy uncovers a prophecy about two cats who have to overcome the dark forces things are starting to piece together. There will be a blizzard. There will be a battle. And there are two cats who hold the fate of the clans on their shoulders.

But this group is hiding something, and it is only a matter of time before it is revealed to the chosen successors. Petalwish is unsure if she really should be loyal to CliffClan. She loves her clanmates dearly, but the clan deputy seems to watch their every move, just waiting for any cat to slip up. But it's the clan she was raised in. So, she should be loyal to them, right? Keenkit always figured he and his littermates were normal kits who would all become apprentices and be able to train together. But when a strange cat takes his sister out of StreamClan on the day of their apprentice ceremony, he quickly realizes such hope has become impossible. Sunpaw just wants to prove to his clan, BreezeClan that he can become a great warrior. But it isn't as easy as it sounds. Even though his rival apprentice Slowpaw is much younger than him, he is always beaten in battle training and he can never catch nearly as much prey. His mentor doesn't make it any better either. Pounceheart is always treating him like some helpless kit and he worries he'll never be able to complete his warrior assessment.
