"Because, and I mean this in the least cliche and movie-like way possible, but I see dead people." Being seventeen is hard enough already without having the gift to see ghosts. Carter Mir has been able to see dead people since the time she was a kid, and has always hated it. Her mom seems to hate her, while her four other siblings can do no wrong, but then there is Carter--the weird, misfit who can't seem to please anyone. But when a ghost arrives in her room, claiming she was murdered, Carter knows she needs to help catch the murderer. However, in order to do that, she has to go undercover, not to mention befriend the suspect, in an attempt to find evidence. It's the perfect plan but things start to go downhill when she soon realizes she's falling in love...with a murderer.

She knew that her twin brother Casey got into trouble outside of school, but she didn't know that he was getting into "Lukas Hasten" kind of trouble. And until Christmas break, the name Lukas Hasten meant nothing to her. Boy, those were the days. ******* Dev Asters is used to flying to Garber, Michigan every year for Christmas break. She's used to how her parents leave her and her brother behind to go on luxurious vacations. And she's used to spending most of her time with her aunt and uncle when her brother runs away with his friends. But the one thing that she isn't used to is having her routine, no matter how boring, interrupted. So when her parents tell her that they're moving to Garber in the summer, her world is turned upside down. Things seemingly can't get any worse. That is, until the day she meets Casey's friends. They agree to go to an abandoned house in the woods. But when they get there, they find something unthinkable. There's a dead body in the forest, and no one seems to know what happened or how it got there. At first the death is labeled an accident, but it soon becomes apparent to Dev that something more sinister has taken place. *I do not own the images used on the cover of my book*
