Each day Ivy can only hope her new guardians won't see Lihn and Tam when they look at her. Of course, a part of her knows that's all they'll ever see. Anyway, it's not like they're any worse than her birth parents, a father who left her and a mother who went and joined some secret organization. At nine, suddenly parentless Ivy found herself as one of the few adopted children in all of the Elvin world. The Song family didn't even know she existed until it happened, but as her closest family she was stuck into their lives. Lihn and Tam still don't know she exists of course. Even after four years, they hadn't gotten around to mentioning her.
