"Merel go get her, I'll keep em at bay! Hurry up, we aint got all day!" I shot another bitter in the head, drawing more to the cabin with the sound as I watched my brother run to the cabin. When he came back alone I forgot the bitters fearing the worse has already happened. "Where is she?!" Worry and anger rang clear in my voice. He shook his head and looked at the uncoming bitters, "I tried believe me I tried baby brother but they already had her, she's gone." Tears stung my eyes, anger rose up as I turned to run to the cabin only to be stopped by Merel. "Let me go! I have to get her, I can't leave her!" He pulled me to the pick up shoving me to the drivers side. "She's dead, lets go before we join her!" With one last glance I got in the truck whispering a final goodbye to my daughter, then left never knowing the truth.

She was already pulling out of the driveway to go get her father when Shane came in behind them, driving like a bat out of hell. Shane told them that Rick was dead, and he came to get them to safety, but Lexi didn't want to believe him. Shane had to physically stop Lexi from getting back in their car and driving to the hospital. The only thing that truly stopped her though was the look on her little brother's face, he needed her now more than ever.
