When Ron asks Hermione out for dinner, Hermione thought it was just going to be like any other one of their dates.
Yet in a turn of events, Ron breaks up with Hermione and what other choice does Hermione have but to walk away, not paying for the food, and go to the bar?
Well, she could have cried and ate chocolate ice cream with Ginny and there may be an alternate universe where she does just that.
But no. She went to the bar and who does she meet?
Draco Malfoy.
She thought it would just be a one time thing when he bought her a drink and gave her a shoulder to cry on.
The next day, Hermione went to St. Mungo's and offered to treat a difficult patient... That is, until she realised who it was.

"Malfoy?" I repeated. "Kiss me." He said, suddenly. "Might as well start now." He looked at me expectantly, so full of desire, that I couldn't breathe for a moment.
