CONVERGENT (A Divergent Fanfiction)

Years into the future, after years of hardship and war, humanity learned a simple truth: evil was within themselves. It was the cause of war and pain. And so, in order to protect mankind, a system of five Factions were created. Each Faction believed that a certain trait or attribute was what humanity needed to focus on the most. Those of Abnegation believed Selflessness was the greatest feature, Candor the Honest, Erudite the Intelligent, Dauntless the Brave, and Amity the Peaceful. And so in the ruins of the City (once known as Pittsburgh), people began again. At the age of sixteen, young men and women would be able to take a simulation which would tell them their place in society, and they would choose.

Lucas Aleric is in Amity, but is sick of his life. In a split second decision, he chooses the Faction Amity hates most: Candor. He meets several other people from many different Factions, and all of them have an important part to play in the oncoming future. As Lucas learns the truth about Divergents and forms friendships, a threat from beyond the City is rising and threatening to topple down everything that humanity knows.
