Nina Anderson is a sixteen year old girl, who lives on a ranch with her family with a few horses.  Her ranch is surrounded by walls, to protect them from other packs. Yes, Other packs, they're werewolves. Although Nina is simply more human then her family. 

'Nina walked through the tall grass towards the stone wall. She spotted a few cracks here and there, but it mostly was still the same, no ways in or out. She could slightly hear the crunching of leaves on the other side of the wall, making her heart skip a beat.  She heard the howls of her family, making her turn sharply towards the house and run as fast as she could.'
