The Star Sword

After a life of servitude, thirteen-year-old Aramis Jago escapes his shackles of bondage and sets sail to the unpredictable waters of Sorrugis to be free. But when a magical sword chooses him as its wielder, his freedom may come at a price.

Sorrugis is littered with pirates, serpents, and giant trolls all trying to take the limitless power of the "Star Sword" for their own. But, a greater evil has returned to Sorrugis-Brights; the horrid monsters born from the darkness in peoples' hearts. As Jago ventures deeper into Sorrugis, the destructive Brights consume the land as they are compelled to find and destroy the mystical blade. Though Jago tries to run from the Brights he realizes that unless he finds a way to destroy them, he will never be free-and neither will anyone else.
