"a soft hand,
a freckled smile,
the sparkling sky,
the naked toes,
the dusty sand,
the old music,
the roaring flames,
the dancing shadows,
the embering hands,
the moistening tongue,
the melting drugs,
the quickened breath,
the beating heart,
the leading hand,
the pursuant feet,
the smoldering flames,
the swollen kiss,
the infinite youth."

Aphrodite
"There's a blaze of light in every word, it doesn't matter which you heard: the holy or the broken, 'Hallelujah.'"- Leonard Cohen The poems in this series center on two characters: I, the speaker, and You, the speaker's subject. I is not a specific gender or orientation. I is meant to mold to the reader's idea of who they would be. We follow I in not only a love story, one where love blossoms and lingers until its destruction, but a tale of self-discovery, where, after a long and arduous quest for it, I finally finds happiness. Next Girl | π₯ 2023 Amby Winner
On steamy, hot summer days, the parched soil cracks like ice into jagged lines resembling lightning blowing up the midnight sky. Summer craves to be quenched and begs to feel the invigorating shower that only rain can douse. It takes what it can get from rain without considering the possibility of destruction. Rain is a necessary evil. It's prayed for yet cursed and hated. It brings forth destruction and life simultaneously. Rain is a refreshing sprinkle and an overwhelming flood. It's elusive, and it alone decides when and where to release its precipitation with no regard to the impact of its power. *** Summer breezed into McGrath's Pub like a breath of fresh air. Despite her miserable day and the tepid rain dampening the streets of Harrisburg, she lit up the bar with her bright smile the moment she entered. Rain is looking for a warm body to take to his bed. He spots Summer and immediately approaches her. She has no clue about his plans for her, and he's determined to bring those plans to fruition. Summer's heart and soul were destroyed by the torrential storm that is Rain Grant. Where Wishes May Win
When fate's thread frays, can love mend the tears?
Nowhere but you
Whispers travel fast, dear readers... It seems fate has orchestrated a most deliciously inconvenient arrangement-two souls, utterly at odds, stranded together with no means of escape. A free-spirited traveler Iris Young and a brooding enigma Orion James, trapped together in the wilderness. A battle of wits, tempers, and undeniable tension has begun dear readers. A war of sharp words, stolen glances, and an attraction so fierce it could melt even the iciest of hearts. But beneath the icy glares and sharp words, something far more dangerous stirs-something neither of them dares to name. The question is not whether sparks will fly, but rather... how long before they ignite? A most enthralling tale is about to unfold... and I, for one, shall be watching closely. Scandalously yours, Amara πͺ¬
