Erin Matthias grew up rich. She had quite a few tussles as a child, which led her to meet a variety of strange beings. Never had she expected that a suicide attempt would change her life in such a way. Many of the choices she made led her to where she is now, a con-woman, a thief, a scoundrel all-around. And proud of it. But her childhood haunts her even as an adult, and as she grapples with her fate and inner struggles, a new threat is introduced to her: a threat from another universe. Erin meets a strange man named Kaldrun, with stranger friends and an even stranger secret. Now, once again, the fate of thousands, or perhaps her whole world, hangs in the balance.
