How are you supposed to be a teenager when there’s no room for yourself? What do you do when you can feel what everyone else is feeling?

Caddie Landau has been able to tap in on what other people are feeling ever since she was a kid. She doesn’t know why she can do this, but she does know that it is starting to drive her insane. Not only is she feeling it, but her body and mind are partaking in it completely, making her cry, scream, laugh – even though she’s not even feeling it herself.

One day it goes too far. She goes too far; completely stepping over the line and behaving in ways she never thought she would. So when she’s hit by a truck and end up in the hospital with a broken wrist, she blames it on karma. But her mind won’t stay decided for long, since a really cute guy shows up, telling her she should come with him. That he can give her the answers she needs.

Caddie is special, and she’s not the only one.

{COMPLETED} "now that you've had your fun electrocuting me, would you care to hop in the backseat?" ---------------------------------------------------------- Freak DNA. That's what I like to call it. The fault to my genetic code. More often than not, it's a curse. The static running through my blood gave me a name. A cruel, daunting label of a measly bug. A roach. That's what I am to them, to the government. Roach; the nameless monster with electricity for a sense and lightening as a second nature. It ruined my life, the sparking currents playing tag in my mind, running around and bumping into everything, shaking me loose. The government, actually. They ruined my life. My curse just gave them a reason. You see, the normal population with ordinary DNA, they don't know about the people like me. The roaches of the world. We don't get that kind of recognition at the camps. There, we are only one thing in the military's eyes. We are weapons and we will act like it. Everyone else out there, bathing in the goodness they don't know they've got, they don't know about the roaches their stepping on. As long as their getting closer to the sky, they don't care what they stand on to reach it. They don't know about the sparkling dreamer that's killed 7 people before her 17th birthday. They don't about the ghost of a girl peaking around corners for her entire life because even home wasn't safe. They don't know about the fighter of steel and iron sucking on his bloody lip courtesy of the wars he battles in as nothing but a shadow. They don't know about the masked villain who would do anything to see the army they lead claim the throne They don't know about us. But they will, because we will rise. And when we arrive, we will arrive violently. ___________________________________________ Started: 10.06.15 Finished: 3.17.16

Experiment 5475

63 parts Complete Mature

***** Experiment 5475 has lived a life measured in pain. For fifteen years, the cold confines of a clandestine lab have been her only world, her body a canvas for brutal experiments that left her with unimaginable supernatural abilities. Known only by a number, she learned to conceal her torment behind a façade of defiance, even as her vision blurred and blood fell. Unlike the others, she survived, clinging to a desperate hope for escape as the outside world remained a terrifying, beautiful unknown. But when a devastating event pushes her to the brink, she finally makes her break for freedom. Just miles away, Nathan Thompson diligently navigates the predictable currents of his own life. An ambitious accountant, he's spent six years meticulously building a stable career and a quiet existence, believing a promotion will finally bring him the fulfillment he craves. He lives comfortably within his well-ordered world, far from chaos and danger. That is, until a sudden, jarring car crash thrusts a mysterious woman with piercing pink eyes into his path, shattering his ordinary routine and dragging him into a reality far wilder than any he could have imagined.
