The Revitalization of Abi

So here I am sitting on our couch in the living room for the last time. Aunt Ri Ri had said I could take anything I wanted to the new house. She'd bought a nice house on the opposite end of town, rather than taking me back to New York as I would be starting my senior year and she didn't want to disrupt my last year. In a way I'd almost wished we COULD go to New York. That way I could reinvent myself. When I mentioned this to Ri Ri she just smiled gently at me.

"Sweetie you can reinvent yourself here. All you need to do is get a bit of a make over. Tell you what, how about we head to New York for the summer. We'll get you a brand new look so when you come back to school in the Fall, nobody will recognize you. That way it'll be like starting over!"

Abigail (Abi) Moretti was your typical seventeen year old who lived in a small Pennsylvania town. She had very strict Italian parents who were also devout Catholics so Abi had to dress very conservatively (think polo shirts, khakis and loafers), not to mention having a very drab hair style and glasses. As an only child she was very sheltered, didn't have many friends and was bullied at school.

Then one Saturday night, Abi missed going to Mass with her parents as she was sick. Later that night she receives tragic news that alters her life forever

A day before the funerals, Abi is in a state of shock when her Aunt Maria or "Ri Ri", as she had Abi call her, blew into town from New York. She's here to care for Abi until she graduates the following year.
