Layla Quint, a young writer and violinist lives in a town where people tend to be small-minded. After tragic events that happened when she formerly wore pigtails, she stayed with her ill Adoptive Father, Jared. Isolation and depression took over her life leaving her in a never-ending night. Soon, she meets a girl named, Amber Selene. A slightly short-tempered yet kind and ambitious young girl with her own set of issues. The sun starts to rise for Layla as their friendship grows.
When they find a place to relax and be themselves, things become mysterious. They find ancient markings from children of previous generations and learn that there is more to their parents' past than they know. However, every time they come close, something or someone knocks them down.
