It seems reality as she knows it is a lie, but not even old wives with wise tales could have prepared her for this. Her biggest worry used to be getting dressed in a clean outfit before anyone noticed that she slept in the office, again. Now she must deal with having an immortal vampire as a soulmate, knowing she is fated to loose his affection in 50 years' time. She watches the bitter and angry face of Ana in the shadows of every day. A reflection and constant reminder of what she will become, the pain she will have to live with. Watching him replace her with a new lover as she is now replacing Ana. She cannot blame Ana for hating her, nor can she find it in her heart to hate her or chase her away. None of that will matter though if she does not win the fight to save her life from the vengeful werewolf that calls for her blood to spill over a debt that is older than she understands. What happens when the list of wrongs are so deeply buried in blood that it has permanently warped the fates?

Raven has worked for years on becoming the best of the best with The Snakes gang ever since she realized life doesn't give equal opportunities. But when it comes to the real test of loyalty, her world turns upside down when she learns a whole new meaning of that word. Tears will be shed, kisses will be shared, blood will be spilled, but her boiling anger will shine the brightest on her endeavor of befriending the enemy and burning the bridges that she has crossed in the past. *** He kept a neutral face, but his eyes said it all. They made me want to apologize and fix the mess I made because they looked just so...abandoned. Lost, like he doesn't know what to do with his life anymore. That sent another anxious feeling to my gut. Did I look the same? Did we both look lost? I was never found to begin with. All I could focus on was the emotion in his eyes. That deep shade of blue caressed by betrayal. That longing from before was gone because he was stuck, just like I always was. *** I should have known that this endeavor wasn't going to end so easily. Because I haven't died yet. And the villain always dies at the end of the story. *** Dreams don't come true because they're not reality. They're an alternate future where anything is possible. But that's not LA. A bright and crowded city with layers of sin and darkness underneath it, ready to prey on its most naive victims. I should know because I was one of them. ***
