Prologue:
"You wanna be in our football team, yeah?" Asked Jake. He was the captain and in order for me to get in I needed his consent since I already tried out.
I nodded my head at him and the right side of his mouth slowly lifted up into a smirk.
"Alright. If you want the spot for the Runner Back... You have to befriend the ugliest human being that ever walked on this planet, also date them... For the whole year. Then you can embarrass her by dumping her at prom night."Jake told me, now full on grinning like a cheshire cat.
That's easy! Who could possibly be that ugly? I mean this is my 5th week in Easton High and every girl here is smoking!
"Who could that possibly be?" I asked him curious.
"Sage Valentina." My eyes were as big as saucers. No! Not her! Anyone but her! She is the ugliest person that I have ever laid eyes on! For clothes she would wear a turtleneck with a pair of really baggy jeans and for shoes she had toms. She always wore a hat and when she took it off, her hair was in a big, poofy, messy bun! She also had big Harry Potter glasses and had dark green braces. Which was a bad choice. She was literally the ugliest person that ever lived. I bet she has a room full of books in her house!
"Her? Why?" I asked exasperated.
"The boys and I want to see some action and drama! This school is so boring and nothing fun ever happens!" He whined. I mentally rolled my eyes. Seriously? He wants me to suffer for the team?
"So if I do this, I would be the team's Runner Back for sure?" I clarified. He nodded his head and I agreed.
I mean seriously! How hard could it possible be? I'm just gonna be her friend and date her for a whole year. I mean I at least get to dump her!
Man this will be a challenge. But this is worth it.
I'll just keep it a secret. Yeah.

An Unexpected Moment
... that changes everything Sarah was starting her junior year of high school. Looking at herself in the mirror, she saw a pretty average blonde haired, blue eyed, teenager. She was neither in the popular group, nor one of the many cliched outsiders. Sarah was a nobody. She liked to blend in and lay low. It was her way out of not only this town, but her house. No one knew it, but her father was a high functioning alcoholic that often took his anger out on his family. With her older sister now in college, it had turned to her more often. Laying low in general was a good strategy. Across town, Ryan was prepping for his final year in high school. While he wasn't the stereotypical quarterback of the football team, he did fit into the popular crowd. His sports of choice included basketball and soccer, either of which might line him up for a scholarship next year. Ryan had a group of close friends and a lot of adoring acquaintances. It wasn't easy juggling his athletics and keeping the grades up, but he was just that good. The supporting parents didn't hurt either. It might be a cliché romance, but it will be fun to see what the year and beyond holds. ------------------------------------------ This is a story I wrote years ago, or at least partially wrote. A story, in which a typical teenage girl falls for the school's bad boy. "You dropped this." I heard a husky voice say. I turned around to look at what I dropped and realized it was my schedule. I gasped. Damn, I would have been fucked if I'd lost it. I guess I didn't put it in my bag... I looked up to thank him, but ended up not being able to find my voice. He's really attractive. Drop dead gorgeous attractive. Hot.
