Kate Abbey is known for being many things. Intelligent, quiet, and...fragile, especially since the Summer of Endings, as she thinks of it, in which she lost both her grandfather and the friendship she relied on most. She also happens to be one of the best young sailors in America, so it seems natural and almost necessary that fate unites her with John Wills, a sailing prodigy and independent soul. The two strike up a strong bond, seemingly unshakable, and just as Kate's life seems to be coming together again, a freak accident will rock John and Kate's worlds.
