Zed and her mother have fled Seattle, Washington to escape the abusive man Zed calls her father. They moved east to Hallowell, Maine. 
Due to the abuse of her father, Zed had become mute. 
But that was 5 months ago. 
Now Zed has started a new school but she is kind of a loner and sticks to herself. The town that she moved to is very divided. As in the humans live on the east side, and the werewolves live on the west side. 
One unfortunate night the mayor's son throws a party while his father is on a business trip.
