Kyla Shade is a Shadowhunter. She has been her whole life, but she has also been alone her whole life. All she knows is that her father was killed in action and her mother was unfit for raising a child alone. She searches for anyone left of her family.

In the mean time, she get tangled up with four young Shadowhunters, who aren't quite sure what to make of her.
